Agriculture & Rural Communities
Michigan has a proud tradition of making the best products in the world — from our manufacturing base to our agricultural producers and farmers. Agriculture is one of the largest industries in Michigan, accounting for one out of four Michigan jobs, and we must continue to strengthen it.
Gary is proud that our state boasts traditional family farms, organic agriculture, and an urban farming movement. It’s a tradition that is ever evolving — becoming more efficient and making better use of technology everyday. Gary believes that Michigan must be a leader in farming innovation.
Gary is proud to have voted for the Farm Bill, which thanks to the leadership of U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, Chair of the Agriculture Committee, was signed into law in Lansing. Gary supports this Farm Bill to provide much needed certainty to Michigan farmers and agricultural producers and invests in our small towns and rural communities.
Gary earned the support of the Michigan Corn Growers Association, which represents over 1,200 corn farmers across Michigan, because they trust him as a strong, independent advocate for Michigan’s agricultural producers, helping to create jobs and grow our economy.
In Michigan, we manufacture world class products and our agricultural sector helps feed the world. Gary will continue to fight for Michigan middle class families by making sure our agriculture gets the support it needs to drive our economy.
